Many
hotels adapted their rates to the travel customs. Specially in January
and in the first half of April many Europeans and North Americans stay
at home. To lure
guests in these quieter weeks hoteliers are offering low rates for
specific periods. This specially applies to Martinique and Guadelpoupe (see
survey).
In
Guadeloupe - for example - Sucrerie du Comté can be had for as little as US $
203/ £ 126 per person per week including breakfast, the Diamant Beach
Hotel in Martinique is offering one week from US $ 420 / £
252 per person. That's
up to 44% cheaper as you have to pay in the peak periods of the winter
season. Also in Tobago and Grenada the price reductions of soms hotels from the medium to the
higher range are of about the same
order.
But
also up market
hotels are offering special deals to tempt potential visitors. In
the noble Calabash
Hotel in Grenada in January and from mid April you pay for the exquisite suites
50% less
than what aristocrats and business tycoons have to cash for them
in the peak periods of the winter season.
