An
original sunset at Blue Haven Hotel is easily worth 1000 Dollars
Actually,
all you need to do is copy them. After all, sunsets in Tobago are like
magnificent paintings. Johann Jascha, an academic painter from Austria,
turns them into works of art. For a few weeks each year he sets up his
studio at the Blue Haven Hotel. To connoisseurs the results of his work
are easily worth 1,000 US-Dollars.

It’s
four years ago that Jascha fist came to Tobago. Blue Haven owner Karl
Pilstl asked him to develop an artistic concept for the hotel prior to
its opening. Meanwhile the artist’s works decorate the restaurant,
bar, reception and rooms. Yet the painter returns each year – to paint
his impressions in acrylics at a villa not far from the main house.
"My
pictures are characterized by strong colours and wide horizons; their
style is abstract and European, their rhythm is Caribbean", says
Jascha. "Just as great tradition blends with modern architecture at
the Blue Haven Hotel." |
