A birdwatcher’s paradise with a bird list of over 600 species; the lodge is the home of the late Diane McTurk, who enjoys international fame as a protector of giant otters.  Several packs of these rare animals and enormous caimans and capybaras – which are pig-sized rodents, live in the close-by stretch of Rupununi River. 
Location:in the southwestern savannah, 3 hours drive from Lethem.
Hotel facilities:
River beach, hiking trails, craft shop, bar, library; daily boat safaris, fishing, Wi-Fi (extra fee charged until 31.12.2019, after included in price).

Basis package includes:
• 1st day: flight to Lethem, then road transport to the lodge, crossing the rainforest and savannah. Late afternoon: boat safari on Rupununi River – a chance to see caimans and capybaras. 
• 2nd day: in the morning boat safari to the honey ponds with its giant Amazon water lilies; in the evening expedition by boat to a tributary, where monkeys and numberless water birds exist. 
• 3rd day: morning: at your disposal – Savannah trip to spot Giant Anteaters or exploring nearby ponds arrayed with local flora and fauna – road transport from the lodge to Lethem, return flight in the afternoon to Georgetown.

!) Important Notice: The Value Added Tax of 16% was already implemented. Karanambu Lodge is not yet taxable at present. This could change over the year. In that case, the tax will be added.
Surcharges from 01.01.2020:
$ 50 / £ 43 per person per day respectively (double occupancy),
$ 56 / £ 48 per person per day respectively (single occupancy)
$ 25 / £ 21 per person per day(children 5-12 years).

The Lodge will be closed on:
Thanksgiving Friday - Monday
Christmas/New Year: December 23rd - January 3rd.
Student program (students only): Saturday, January 3rd – January 30th.
Cancellation and payment policy:
For cancellations 89 – 60 days before arrival 10% fees
59 – 30 days 25% fees
29 – 15 days 50% fees
14 – 7 days 75% fees
6 – 0 days or no show 100% fees

Full payment for all confirmed bookings is due no less than 30 days prior to arrival.
