A
well-kept beach resort on a private
island in mighty Essequibo river. A
large expanse of lawn surrounds the
one-storey buildings, and a long, golden
sandy beach is washed by the amber-colored
water. On the opposite
bank of the river, you’ll find the
small town of Bartica, which is a gold
diggers’ center. They search for the
precious metal and for diamonds in the
wild tributary streams.

flights to the Kaieteur Falls, boat
trips, water ski, landing strip for
private airplanes.

lower course of the Essequibo, around
2½ hours by car & boat from
Georgetown, 3 hours from the

ride to the gold rush town of Bartica.
