Formalities
& Documentation for Weddings
weddings
in Trinidad are recognized in all European
countries, the United States and Canada. The
ministry for foreign affairs issues a
document as proof for the authorities in the
home country. Before they can get married on
the island the couple must stay in Trinidad
for three working days. Required documents:
passport, confirmation of place of
residency, proof of single status (affidavit
or official letter); if divorced, proof of
Decree Absolute; if applicable proof of name
change; if under 21 evidence of parental
consent. Documents in foreign language need
certified English translation.
