A well-tended beach resort on a private island in the mighty Essequibo river. A large expanse of lawn surrounds the one-story buildings, where a long, golden sandy beach is lapped by the amber-colored water. On the opposite bank of the river, is the small town of Bartica, center of the prospector, who search for the precious metal and for diamonds in the wild tributary streams.
Location:Lower course of the Essequibo, around 2½ hours by car & boat from Georgetown, 3 hours from the international airport, 8 minute boat ride to the gold rush town of Bartica.


Hotel facilities:Restaurant, bar, canoes, volleyball; fee charged for flights to the Kaieteur Falls, boat trips; landing strip for private airplanes.
